Group Drive: 1st PCA Drive of 2026 - Dragon Slayer - 03.07.26

Get ready for one of Appalachia’s best kept secrets!

With more than 226 significant curves, breathtaking Appalachian Mountain views, and the climb to Black Mountain — the highest point in Kentucky — the Dragon Slayer (Route 160) delivers an unforgettable driving experience. This adrenaline-charged road challenges even experienced drivers while giving newer participants the perfect opportunity to sharpen their skills in a controlled, group setting.

As we snake along the western edge of Virginia and cross into eastern Kentucky at the crest, you may pass more black bears than vehicles. The descent offers sweeping views of miles of undisturbed forest as we approach the historic coal town of Lynch — once home to the largest coal mining company in the world.

This is mountain driving at its finest.
